Advanced solutions for odor elimination

Biopulcher successfully leads odor control for the stack and the DAF unit at a leachate treatment plant.

In the waste and recovery sector, odor is not a mere side effect: it is the manifestation of chemical compounds that, when accumulating at improper levels, can lead to environmental, social, and operational problems.

Odorous emissions are often one of the main sources of friction with nearby communities, making their control an essential technical necessity and an environmental responsibility embraced by companies in the sector.

In leachate treatment, physicochemical processes are applied to stabilize the effluent and maximize purification efficiency: filtration and sedimentation to remove suspended solids, dissolved air flotation (DAF) to separate fats and oils, and coagulation-flocculation to group particles and facilitate decanting.

The company was experiencing odor problems in the DAF area and in one of the extraction stacks, and contacted Biopulcher for a solution.

Biopulcher has developed a specific odor neutralization treatment based on the ultrasonic nebulization of the reactive product Biodor Control L (BCL). The objective is to act directly on the molecules responsible for the odor, converting them into non-volatile compounds, thus offering an effective solution that does not alter operations or generate additional waste.

Biopulcher Ultrasonic technology, gas-phase neutralization

The Biopulcher Ultrasonic system has been developed to respond to the most demanding challenges in odorous emission control.

Through an ultrasonic nebulization process, it transforms the odor-neutralizing product into a dry and homogeneous mist composed of ultra-fine micro-droplets, exponentially increasing the contact surface with malodorous compounds.

The result is a cloud of particles that remains suspended in the air for longer, achieving optimal dispersion and instantaneous contact with odor molecules, allowing for a gas-to-gas reaction from the onset of the emission and ensuring effective and immediate neutralization.

Safety and sustainability

Biopulcher solutions are based on sustainable technologies and approved formulations, designed to offer high performance without compromising safety.

According to CLP regulations, these formulations, once diluted before application, are not classified as hazardous: they are non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-irritating, and 100% biodegradable.

Therefore, they constitute a safe alternative for people, workers, plants, and animals, minimizing environmental impact and contributing to a more responsible operation.

In this way, the Biopulcher Ultrasonic technology, together with Biodor Control products, positions itself as an effective response to the most complex challenges in the waste industry, while providing full safety guarantees for workers, the environment, and the community, aligning with the principles of circular economy and environmental responsibility that define today’s industrial agenda.

Biodor Control L - (BCL)

Biopulcher BCL is a broad-spectrum odor neutralizer indicated for treating sewage sludge, leachates, industrial processes, containers, septic tanks, synthetic and mineral oils, among others. It is a very powerful and long-lasting odor neutralizer.

The active agents of Biopulcher BCL attack the molecules of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, putrescine, indole, and skatole, among others.

It can be sprayed on any surface or fogged into the air.

It is a product safe for people and the environment that holds the following certificates:

  • Biodegradability Certificate
  • No ocular toxicity
  • No dermal toxicity
  • Phytotoxicity.
